How does GPS tracking work?

Global Positioning System (GPS) is a worldwide radio-navigation system formed from the constellation of 24 satellites and their ground stations. The GPS tracking system, for example, may be placed in a vehicle, on a cell phone, or on special GPS devices, which can either be a fixed or portable unit. The GPS tracking system uses the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) network. This network incorporates a range of satellites that use microwave signals that are transmitted to GPS devices to give information on location, vehicle speed, time and direction. Using DRIVE application, any number of geofences can be created. The geofences created across designated areas, help in triggering alerts which allows you to monitor activity in a more passive manner. Rather than continuously looking at the real-time map, you can simply get an alert whenever a geofence is crossed by your vehicle.
